CNC Turner (Night Shift)

Batch sizes are typically 1–20 off, with multiple tool changes per run and a real focus on craftsmanship.\n\nShift pattern & pay\n\n * Nights: Monday–Thursday, 9:15pm–7:00am\n\n * Approx. 9.25 hours per night (including breaks)\n\n * Salary: £42,400–£43,500 (including shift premium)\n\n * Training / induction initially carried out on day shift rate for the first few weeks\n\nCNC Turner role\n\n * Set and operate CNC lathes on complex, low‑volume components (1s, 5s, 10s, 20s – not large batches)\n\n * Work to very tight tolerances for demanding end‑use applications\n\n * Carry out multiple tool changes per job/run\n\n * Read and interpret CNC programs and make on‑machine adjustments\n\n * Identify and correct errors in programs (no need to write from scratch, but you must be able to re‑route / amend programs where needed)\n\n * Work closely with team leaders on the shop floor during a busy production schedule\n\n * Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and right‑first‑time output\n\nWhat we’re looking for\n\nYou must be a genuine precision CNC Turner, not from a purely high‑volume environment.\n\nEssential experience:\n\n * Proven CNC turning experience in precision environments, such as:\n\n * Niche aerospace\n\n * Motorsport / performance engineering\n\n * Other complex, tight‑tolerance, low‑volume machining\n\n * Comfortable with short runs and one‑offs, where every part can be different\n\n * Confident with multiple tool changes and working on intricate, highly detailed parts\n\n * Ability to:\n\n * Read and understand CNC code\n\n * Spot and correct program issues on the machine\n\n * Adjust offsets, feeds, speeds, tool paths as required\n\n * Strong understanding of precision machining, tooling, and inspection of own work\n\nCandidates whose background is mainly large batch, simple repeat work where you only load/unload and press start will not be suitable for this position.\n\nInterested in knowing more?
