HR Advisor - Southampton\n\nLocation: Southampton, SO14 - 1 day in the office (Thursday for Team anchor day).\n\nSalary: £19.32 per hour.\n\nFull Time – Monday to Friday – 37 hours.\n\nContract: Initial 3 month contract – possibly beyond.\n\nManaging the full spectrum of ER cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, flexible working and performance-related matters.\nProvide expert advice to the line managers on best practise, policy and procedures via telephone and email.\nTo produce accurate HR casework documentation - reviewing ER correspondence/documentation and supporting hearings and meetings.\nPurpose of the Role\n\nProvide timely and effective HR and Organisational Development (OD) advice and support to HR Business Partners and management teams across the organisation.\nSupport the delivery of the Workforce Strategy by developing workforce capability and capacity, promoting employee engagement, and ensuring effective employee relations practices.\nContribute to the development and implementation of modern, sustainable HR policies and practices that support organisational objectives and strengthen employer reputation.\nKey Responsibilities\n\nHR Advisory & Employee Relations\n\nProvide first-line professional HR advice and support to managers, ensuring workforce changes and working practices are implemented in line with organisational policies and procedures.\nDeliver first-level support on employee relations matters, offering guidance on policy interpretation, case management, and procedural compliance.\nAdvise managers on all aspects of HR and OD policy and practice, supporting the achievement of workforce and organisational objectives.\nDiagnose HR and organisational issues, identify risks, and implement appropriate solutions to prevent recurrence or escalation.\nMaintain accurate, objective, and confidential records of HR activities, interventions, and casework.\nOrganisational Development & Workforce Planning\n\nSupport HR Business Partners in delivering HR and OD initiatives that enhance employee engagement, organisational effectiveness, and performance outcomes.\nContribute to workforce planning activities by analysing workforce information, identifying capability needs, and supporting productivity improvements.\nAssist in identifying and addressing learning, training, and development requirements across the workforce.\nSupport organisational development projects and initiatives aimed at improving workplace culture, employee experience, and organisational performance.\nStakeholder Management & Collaboration\n\nWork closely with management teams to ensure HR processes are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.\nDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with employee representatives and trade unions, supporting constructive dialogue and effective resolution of workplace issues.\nCollaborate with administrative colleagues to ensure the timely provision of accurate HR information, guidance, and support to managers and employees.\nPolicy Development & Service Improvement\n\nResearch, review, and contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organisational and legislative requirements.\nSupport continuous improvement activities and projects designed to enhance HR service delivery and strengthen organisational effectiveness.\nContribute to initiatives that promote the organisation as an employer of choice and a great place to work.\nKey Areas of Expertise\n\nEmployee Relations\nHR Policy and Procedure\nOrganisational Development\nWorkforce Planning\nLearning and Development\nStakeholder Management\nChange Management\nPerformance Improvement\nTrade Union Relations\nHR Project Support\nEmployment Legislation Compliance\nRecruitment is done in line with safe recruitment practices 4Recruitment Services is an equal opportunities employer.\n\nTo discuss this vacancy or other vacancies in your area please contact Liam Heddle on
