Trading Operations Specialist – Hedge Fund (Desk-Aligned Role)

Overview

We are partnering with a high-performing hedge fund to hire an exceptional Operations Specialist to support a front-office trading desk.

This is a desk-aligned role, offering direct exposure to traders and real-time involvement in the investment process. The position goes beyond traditional operations — focused on ownership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced environment.

The Role

• Act as a key partner to the trading desk, managing and resolving issues across the full trade lifecycle
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of trade capture, P&L, and positions
• Investigate and resolve breaks and exceptions with urgency
• Support daily trading activity across complex strategies and products

Process Improvement & Build

• Identify inefficiencies and drive meaningful process improvements
• Lead initiatives to automate workflows and reduce manual touchpoints
• Work closely with technology teams on system enhancements and tooling
• Support the onboarding of new products and trading strategies

Risk & Control

• Maintain strong operational controls without slowing the business down
• Proactively identify and mitigate operational risk
• Take ownership of issues through to resolution

Candidate Profile

• Experience in hedge fund or investment bank operations / trade support
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and market products
• Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, front-office-facing environment
• Highly detail-oriented with a solutions-driven mindset
